Only Reminds Me Of You

I was at a run held at the Makati CBD yesterday.  The route went around the familiar areas in Makati, the Buendia flyover, The Fort, then back to Makati again.  I really miss this city.

I worked in Makati for close to three years then moved to Pasay.  I hate Pasay.  I can list all the things I hate Pasay for but this is not a ‘I hate Pasay’ post so I will stop.  I miss working and going to Makati.  Other than the friends of mine who work there, it is the convenience — the fact that everything is within walking distance of each other like the bank, gym, mall, fast food, etc.,  that I miss, enjoy and love!

They said that there is no more room for improvement in Makati, it being the central business district of the country for the longest time, but they just made a park behind the Ayala Triangle Building.  I have been there and it was a pocket-size respite for weary professionals looking for a semblance of peace.

On my way home, I walked from MSE to the Ayala MRT station.  They have renovated the platform to the station beside BDO.  The stalls looked better than before and now the place have steel long chairs.  Then I remembered RC.  I used to wait for him there so we could take bus rides  going home together.  We dated in the bus.  Crazy.

The Market

I miss Makati very much.  I miss the crowd.  I miss how everything you need is just a walk away.  So one Saturday morning, I went with friends to the Salcedo Weekend Market.

The food was better than the fare I have been having in Pasay but was also more expensive.  We roamed around and I picked cheesy tilapia and lechon baboy with rice.  The best part of the meal was the conversation!    We made fun of the candidates in the upcoming elections, Kris Aquino, former co-workers and of course each other!  I miss my friends from Makati!

We circled the market another time for dessert.  I wanted crepe but got intimidated by the German chef so I settled for buko/lychee sherbet.  I noticed a lot of cute guys who were returning my glances.  The weekend market as a new place to meet guys?  Not bad!  My new requirement as of the moment is to see them in ample lighting, if not broad daylight.  Other than the need to see if they are wearing too much make up, I think that when guys are out in the open, they behave less of a jerk and more of a cool dude.  No air, no hurry to get it on, no hiding.  This is the weekend market for crying out loud!  I see myself on a bench having ice cream and good conversation with a cute yuppie.  Salcedo, I shall return!

On the bus on my way home, I listened to Telephone by Lady GaGa featuring Beyoncé.

Good Great times!

Haven’t Met You Yet

Michael Bublé - Haven't met you yet

How will I meet you?

Will you give me the look at the gym?  Please no, not at the gym.  I barely return glances and in the very few instances when I did, I was only teasing.  Besides, I want long time fun, not short time play.

Will you keep liking  my Facebook status?  But that means you like my status, not me right?  Why not send me a message instead?  If I reply, that means I like you.  Online flirting is a killer.

Will I see you in a bar?  No, I don’t go to bars.  Yet.

How about approaching me during lunch and coffee breaks?  I know that it’s very Summer Finn but it might work!  Decent place for decent conversation and we get to sit and check each other out under ample (day) light.

Referrals?  Good guys are very few these days and very much wanted so I am not counting on getting recommendations from my friends.  We are each other’s competition it seems and its highly likely that if my competitors don’t get the guy they want, they will not give them to me.  I know, how about a little merch sharing?  Darn, I just said merch.

I have two guys that I really like.  First is Mike.  He is fair, really good-looking and we are around the same age .  He is 29 and I am 30.  I saw him online and sent him a message a couple of times.  He was not as excited as I was but when I asked him out, he said yes.  I am still waiting for a date though.  Second is Randy.    He is 24, tall and has a nice smile.  I asked him out for drinks in Facebook once, said yes but only when he gets a job.  I hope he gets a job soon.
